Evan Elan is the head of The Elan Law Firm’s Washington, DC metro area practice. He is an aggressive litigator named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in Washington, D.C. for business litigation. Evan focuses his practice on personal injury and employment matters. He routinely represents individuals and their families who have suffered catastrophic injuries in the New York and Washington, DC metro area as a result of car accidents, dangerous walking surfaces, and wrongful death. He also represents individuals in a variety of industries in actions involving employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and FLSA violations. Evan has also successfully represented and recovered significant compensation for whistleblowers who have pursued retaliation claims under Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank.
Prior to joining The Elan Law Firm, Evan was a Complex Commercial Litigation Associate at international law firm Kaye Scholer LLP in the New York and Washington, DC offices. While at Kaye Scholer, Evan successfully represented pharmaceutical companies, financial institutions, and individuals in a variety of civil litigation matters. He also represented corporate clients in criminal matters involving anti-corruption and export controls. Evan spent significant time participating in cross-border internal investigations and conducting fieldwork in Europe and Asia.
Evan received his JD from The George Washington University Law School. During law school, he served as an Associate on The George Washington Law Review and worked as a summer law clerk for the US Attorney’s Office in the District of Maryland. Evan is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Evan is a member of the Washington, DC Trial Lawyers Association and the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association.
